Vijay Deverakonda's film 'Kingdom' gets new release date of July 4 amid India-Pakistan tensions

Vijay Deverakonda’s upcoming action-thriller Kingdom has been rescheduled to release on July 4, 2025, instead of the initially planned May 30, 2025. The decision comes amidst ongoing tensions between India and Pakistan, which have made it challenging for the filmmakers to continue with promotions or public celebrations surrounding the film's release.

The production team announced the delay, emphasizing that they had explored all possible options to maintain the original release date. In an official statement, they said, “To our dear audience, we wish to inform you that the release of our film Kingdom, originally set for May 30, has been rescheduled to July 4. We explored every possibility to stick to the original date, but recent unforeseen events in the country and the current atmosphere have made it difficult for us to move forward with promotions or celebrations.”

The statement further expressed gratitude to the team behind the film, including producer Dil Raju and actor Nithiin, for their understanding and support during the rescheduling process. The filmmakers believe this delay will allow them to present the film with the creative excellence and spirit it deserves, ensuring the best experience for the audience upon its release.

Directed by Gowtam Tinnanuri, Kingdom is an action-packed spy thriller that stars Vijay Deverakonda in a prominent role. Other key cast members include Bhagyashri Borse and Satyadev. The film’s music is composed by Anirudh Ravichander, and it has been produced by Sai Soujanya and Naga Vamsi under Sithara Entertainments and Fortune Four Cinemas.

The film's teaser, which was released earlier this year, features voiceovers by major stars including Jr NTR (Telugu version), Suriya (Tamil version), and Ranbir Kapoor (Hindi version, titled Saamraajya). The film is expected to be the first in a planned duology. With the release now set for July 4, Kingdom will go head-to-head with Nithiin’s upcoming film Thammudu, which will also be released on the same date.
